Spring is here and Mother Nature is finally warming up to us. As the temperature increases, so does the amount of skin we show! Sadly, a lot of dieters dread this season. The idea of wearing shorts leaves you feeling exposed, vulnerable and wanting to hide. DON’T.
You deserve to be happy as you progress towards your ideal lifestyle and goal weight. Don’t berate yourself or convince yourself that you need to stay out of sight until you have the body you desire. Beauty isn’t a size 0… beauty isn’t even your goal weight. Check out these 5 ways to feel comfortable in your skin while you’re on your way to your ideal body and health.
1. Change your definition of Beautiful. Create your own template of what makes a healthy person. Starved-skinny or surgically-enhanced women do not adequately represent a healthy person. Beauty is not restricted by body size!!!
2. Bellydance. Oh, I’m not kidding! Ask any woman who has tried bellydancing – talk about a great workout! This low-impact metabolism booster gives you a feeling of sexiness while it tones you. It can even increase your flexibility! Whether you bare your belly or keep it covered, give bellydancing a try! 3. Take a break from “beauty” mags. Even the thinnest of average-sized people can start to feel large when flipping through these magazines featuring starving celebrities and airbrushed models. 4. Choose a theme song. Find a jam that keeps your mood up, pumps you up about being you!! It sounds cliché but there is only one you… embrace your uniqueness!
5. Exercise for HEALTH. Stop thinking of exercise in terms of pounds lost or calories burned. Rather, imagine how the exercise you are doing is making you healthier by increasing circulation and flexibility, strengthening muscles, stronger bones, higher metabolism, etc.
The way you that you feel about your body affects how you feel about yourself. You are working hard to achieve a healthy lifestyle – you deserve much more than downing and constantly criticizing yourself. You deserve to be comfortable and happy NO MATTER WHAT THE TEMPERATURE IS OUTSIDE!! You are beautiful NOW. So don’t hide this spring. The flowers are blooming – and so should you!!
